Dr. Henry specializes in a variety of procedures designed to improve every aspect of the body. Procedures that focus on breasts include:

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular procedures performed by Dr. Henry. According to The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, this procedure is consistently one of the top cosmetic surgery procedures performed by their members in the United States. Dr. Henry is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. By choosing a plastic surgeon certified by the ABPS, you can be assured that the surgeon has completed the appropriate training and passed comprehensive written and oral examinations covering all plastic surgery procedures.

Breast augmentation could be right for you if you are looking for fuller, larger breasts. Dr. Henry offers both saline and silicone implants.

The Procedure

The implant, which is either comprised of saline or silicone gel, is inserted behind the breast tissue or behind the muscle closest to the breast. The type of implant and procedure employed will depend on what is most appropriate for you.

Breast Lift

A breast lift can help you achieve a younger look by raising the breast tissue and repositioning the nipples. Decreasing the size of the areolas is an option, as well. Recovery takes several weeks, with bruising and swelling diminishing during that time. After twelve months, the incision lines fade and the breasts return to a more natural shape.

The Procedure

Dr. Henry makes a series of incisions - one around the areola, another directly below and a third that follows the lower crease of the breast. Excess skin is removed, the nipple is raised and skin on the upper part of the breast is brought down. However, the method in which the surgeon will operate depends on the condition and size of the breast.

Breast Reduction

There are various reasons why women may wish to seek breast reduction surgery. Whether it be due to back, neck or shoulder pain associated with the size of their breasts, restriction of physical activity or purely for cosmetic reasons, this procedure can be performed at any age once the breasts have been fully developed.

The Procedure

A series of incisions are made - one around the areola, under the contour of the breast and one vertical incision. Excess tissue, fat, and skin are removed and the breast is reshaped with the help of small stitches. Additionally, liposuction may be used to remove some of the fat that leads to the arm.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is a procedure performed following a partial or total mastectomy. Multiple options are available to you and you should discuss all options with Dr. Henry.

The Procedure

One approach is to create excess skin by inserting an expander into the breast area. Dr. Henry then gradually adds fluid to the expander to stretch the skin and when large enough, replaces it with an implant. Another technique involves removing a portion of skin from another part of the body. It is then tunneled underneath the skin to form the pocket necessary for the insert or to form the breast mound itself. Scars will fade with time.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia surgery reduces breast size in men, flattening and enhancing the chest contours.

Gynecomastia is a condition of over-developed or enlarged breasts in men that can occur at any age. The condition can be the result of hormonal changes, heredity, obesity or the use of certain drugs. Gynecomastia can cause emotional discomfort and impair your self-confidence. Some men may even avoid certain physical activities and intimacy simply to hide their condition.
